<![CDATA[Jelly Communications and Crystal Palace Football Club Launch Schools Advertising Board Competition ]]> http://www.jellycoms.co.uk/news/JCCPFCadvertboard/ Jelly Communications and Crystal Palace Football Club
Launch Schools Advertising Board Competition

Chessington, Tuesday 15th May 2012: Jelly Communications, the leading independent business telecommunications specialists announce in association with Crystal Palace Football Club a competition for school children to design a ground advertising board for display at Selhurst Park.

The competition offers Year 5 and below school children the opportunity to re-design one of Jelly’s advertising boards which will be visible at the first televised home game of the 2012-13 season.

Jelly is a Platinum sponsor at Crystal Palace FC and has recently announced the renewal of its sponsor and hospitality package for the 2012-13 season. This package includes shirt advertising with the Jelly Comms logo, together with ground, programme and media background advertising. Jelly also has a hospitality box at the ground. On the business front, Jelly has supplied new mobile and fixed line (VOIP) packages to the Eagles.

From the entries received, eight finalists will be selected. Each finalist will receive a pair of Crystal Palace season tickets which have been purchased by Jelly and will allow one adult and one child (under 10) to attend every Palace home game of the 2012/13 season. The finalists will then be invited to the first home game of the season for a photo presentation.

The designer of the winning entry, selected by Jelly and Crystal Palace, will have their board produced for the televised game and they will be invited to be pitch-side for the match at Selhurst Park for photographs and presentation.

Jelly’s objectives with this initiative are to raise awareness of the company’s products and services and to encourage the local community, particularly younger children to follow and participate with their local football team. Jelly MD Gareth Limpenny is a lifelong Eagles fan and is keen to use his links with the club to help future development, ‘It's essential that I can justify our investment on a solid business front, which I can, but it's important for me to be helping the club move forward. If we can encourage kids to support and engage with their local team and experience the magic of live matches rather than just watching Premiership games on the television, it will help build a sense of community and secure Palace's future. I’ve found great pleasure in supporting Crystal Palace through thick and thin over the years and I believe in helping others to do the same.’

<![CDATA[Lifelong Eagles Fan]]> http://www.jellycoms.co.uk/news/whysponsorcp/ Following the successful trial programme which began mid way through this 2011-12 season, Jelly Communications has agreed to renew its sponsorship and hospitality package with Crystal Palace Football Club for 2012-13.

The package which will be further enhanced this season includes the Jelly brand appearing on the back of the shirts and shorts for both home and away kits, on the media back drop boards during pre and post match interviews, on stadium advertising boards at Selhurst Park and advertisements in the match programmes and on team sheets.

In addition, Jelly has the use of a hospitality box and is working with the club's business development team on business opportunities. Jelly has already been awarded the mobile and fixed line telecommunications contracts for Crystal Palace and installed a new IP telephony package that covers Selhurst Park and the training ground, replacing two outdated systems.

Whilst this is all good business for both parties, the stimulus behind this partnership was generated by Gareth Limpenny, Jelly's Managing Director and lifelong Eagles fan.

'My family are all Palace supporters so naturally I followed the trend and have been coming to see the Eagles since I was a young boy. I've suffered the pain and enjoyed the triumphs like many Palace supporters and when I had the opportunity to get involved, beyond being just a season ticket holder, it seemed a natural thing to do.

It's important that I can justify our investment on a solid business front, which I can, but it's important for me to be helping the club move forward. Part of the partnership allows me to provide football shirts for youngsters at local schools and clubs which I see as helping to secure the Club's future. We're also working with Palace to see if we can get lapsed season ticket holders coming back as this will help generate revenue back into the Club too. We also support a lot of the Crystal Palace Academy initiatives as this helps the Eagles grow their own future players, which is a key part of Palace's tradition and objectives and will allow more revenue to be spent on he Club as opposed to transfer fees.'

The Eagles ended the 2011-12 season at 17th place in the Championship. The season had its ups and downs with a fantastic Carling Cup run including the famous victory at Old Trafford against Manchester United as one of the highlights. This put Palace firmly in the spotlight and raised profile for Jelly Communications. Visitors to Jelly's web site (www.jellycoms.co.uk) rose by 600% around key games and Jelly has secured business off the back of its Palace partnership.

GO EAGLES!

<![CDATA[Jelly Comms a Crystal Palace Platinum Sponsor]]> http://www.jellycoms.co.uk/news/jellyandcp/ Chessington, April 28 2012: Jelly Communications, the complete business telecoms and mobile phone company is delighted to have a mutually beneficial partnership with Crytal Palace, Football Club.

The partnership, which makes Jelly a Platinum sponsor partner, features the Jelly logo and web address (www.jellycoms.co.uk) on the back of the first team kit, on the media interview background, on the front of the programme and around the ground on advertising boards. In addition, Jelly has a hospitality deal with the Eagles which provides a hospitality box and ground banner together with programme and team sheet advertising.

On the telecommunications front, Jelly manages Crystal Palace's mobile phone contracts and has also been awarded its fixed line business with a new integrated IP telephony for 65 extensions that covers Selhurts Park, the training ground and replaces the two existing systems.

Crystal Palace has placed Jelly on the map as a major player in the telecoms industry and has helped more than double the website traffic in the last six months.

'This is a very positive and exciting partnership for Jelly Communications' says Jelly's Managing Director Gareth Limpenny. 'As the Jelly business continues to grow, we have been looking at ways of increasing awareness and building profile and with Palace doing well on the pitch, this seems an ideal match.'

'Crystal Palace is delighted to confirm this one year sponsorship deal which will see Jelly Communications become the Club's Platinum partner. The main component of the sponsorship will see the Jelly Communications logo appear on the back of the player's shirts next season. In addition, there is a dynamic package of advertising and hospitality that will allow Jelly to maximise its relationship with the Club.' Phil Alexander, Chief Executive.

Jelly Communications is very proud to be associated with Crystal Palace Football Club as a partner, a telecoms supplier and a customer. We hope that the Eagles continue to soar and that Jelly contributes to their success for years to come. For that reason, Jelly has agreed to continue this arrangement for the 2012-13 season, giving Jelly additional exposure with the Jelly logo appearing on home, away and supporter's replica kits along with the programme of communications to run throughout the season.

<![CDATA[Manage Your Smartphone's Data Cost]]> http://www.jellycoms.co.uk/news/datacosts/ Smarphone users continue to increase and so will mobile data traffic. According to Telecoms.com mobile data traffic has grown by 60% in 2011 and is expected to increase ten fold over the next four years.

How do you connect to the internet with your Smartphone?

1) 3G- connects to the internet in your home country using your mobile networks service. Most network plans allow for 500 MB to 1GB of data as part of your line rental.

2) WiFi - is a medium that allows your smartphone to exchange data wirelessly over a computer network. You can change settings on your smartphone to discover and connect to a network resource via a wireless network access point or tower. Many WiFi connections are secured and require a password, however establishments like Starbucks or a library will be open.

How does connecting to the Internet on the move effect your monthly data charges?

By default, your smartphone will constantly try to connect to the internet while you are on the move. Going over your monthly allowance incurs additional costs to your monthly bill. Connecting or discovering WiFi points will help to reduce your costs.

How does data roaming fit in?

A recent survey estimates that 60% of mobile phone users do not understand data roaming, brief article.

Data roaming is when you allow your smartphone to connect to the internet wirelessly while you are abroad. At this point you are no longer using your home cellular network data plan. This means you will be charged for every megabyte of data sent or received to your smartphone. These costs can sometimes be double or triple your expected monthly charges.

You can minimize charges when you are abroad or travelling overseas by turning Data Roaming off. Follow these simple steps:

1) On your Smartphone go to 'Settings'

2) On the iPhone select 'General' on Android select 'Wireless Control' On BlackBerry go to 'Options'

3) Select 'Network' or 'Mobile Network'

4) Go to Data Roaming and turn 'Off' or 'Disable' on BlackBerry turn while roaming 'Off'

If you are a Jelly Communications customer, please contact us on: 0808 161 0000 or sales@jellycoms.co.uk to make sure you have the correct data plan on your Smartphone.
We are available Monday - Friday 9 am - 5:30 pm.

Warning

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Failure to be on the correct data bolt on plan may result in high data charges on your future bills particularly if you are using it abroad.

<![CDATA[Maximise Battery Life on Your iPad and iPhones]]> http://www.jellycoms.co.uk/news/miximise_battery_life_ipad_iphone/ How to maximise Battery Life n Your iPad and iPhones

batteryimage

Keep Your iDevice Out of the Sun

Whatever you do, don't leave your iPhone or iPad sitting in the car- heat kills batteries faster than any other factor, and your device that use to keep a charge for hours will eventually barely hold a charge, and you will have to pay Apple to get it replaced. The same thing holds true for any hot environment: try to store your device in a cool place.

Reduce the Screen Brightness

If you keep the screen at maximum brightness all the time, you're wasting a lot of battery- and the screens these days are so bright anyway that you don't really need to, especially at night. Go to Settings > Brightness & Wallpaper to adjust the default level of brightness, which can be kept as low as 30% most of the time.

brightness

Make Sure the Screen Locks Quickly

Even if you have adjusted the screen brightness, there is still no substitute for having it turn off quickly when you are not using it. Go into General > Auto- Lock to set the screen lock to happen as quickly as your device will let you. This makes a big difference if you are always picking up your phone and putting it back into your pocket without turning display off.

autolock

Use Airplane Mode When you Don't Need Internet

If you are busy spending the next 8 hours playing Angry Birds, there might not be a good reason to have internet access, so you can consider using Airplane Mode, which turns off both Wi-Fi and the regular wireless radio. Of course, this will prevent phone calls if you're on an iPhone- but if you are busy with Angry Birds you probably don't want the interruption anyway.

airplanemode

The more important timr to use Airplane mode is when you are in an area with a really spotty connection. The iPhone or iPad will try to stay connected at all times, constantly searching for a connection, this can drain your battery. Go into Settings and flip the Airplan Mode to off.

Use Wi-Fi instead of 3G if Possible

According to Apple, the iPad will get 10 hours of battery life under regular use with Wi-Fi enabled, but will get 9 hours using 3G- the iPhone gets 6 hours on 3G and 10 with Wi-Fi. Of course, if you are heavily using the Wi-Fi you'll still be draining the battery. The point is under similar work loads Wi-Fi is better than 3G for battery life.

You can enable Wi-Fi under Settings > Wi- Fi, then pick the network you would like to connect to.

wifi

Reduce or Eliminate Mail and Calendar Checking

If you have a bunch of email, calendar or contact accounts configured and they are all being checked and downloading email on a regular basis, you'll be draining the battery an aweful lot faster than you need to.

Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data and change the setting to the least frequent check possible. If you don't use it often you can just turn Push off entirely and then manually check when you need to.

mailcontacts

Reduce or Eliminate Push Notifications

Do you really need notifications from Twitter or whatever other apps you are running?

You can turn these off one by one, or turn off Push entirely by going to Settings > Notifications, and save a bit of extra battery life since your device won't be pulling in data for those applications anymore.

notifications

Reduce or Eliminate System Sounds

This one is probably a little silly, but if you really don't care for the system sounds you can save a small amount of battery life by removing the sounds. A very, very small amount, most likely. Go to Settings > General > Sounds to change them.

sounds

Disable Location Services

If you don't really need the location services, you can disable them to save some battery life. Go to Settings > General and flip the Location Services to off.

network

Disable Bluetooth if You Don't Need it

If you don't use a Bluetooth headset, keyboard, you should keep the Bluetooth radio disabled to save some extra battery life. Go to Settings > General > Bluetooth flip it on or off.

bluetooth

Disable Vibrate Features in Games

If you have a game that uses the vibrate feature, you can turn that off to save some battery life. This mostly matters if the game heavily uses it, then you'll need to change the setting for the game. As a side note, and it should go without saying, if you are running a really intensive video games, they will kill your battery very quickly.

Charge and Discharge Your Battery Regularly

Your iDevice needs to be fully discharged and recharged at least once a month to operate at maximum efficiency and keep the battery from dying. You will also want to make sure that you don't store the device with a dead battery, as that can also cause the battery to lose charge capability- when your battery dies, make sure to recharge it quickly.

<![CDATA[Jelly Imitations]]> http://www.jellycoms.co.uk/news/jelly_imitations/ It has recently come to our attention that there is another mobile communications company that has started trading using a similar name to Jelly Communications Ltd.

Unfortunately, we have received a couple of complaints in to our offices about the behaviour of sales people purporting to be from Jelly. Having undertaken a thorough internal investigation we are completely satisfied that these complaints have nothing to do with Jelly Communications Ltd or any of the employees that work for us.

We pride ourselves on providing high levels of customer service and our ethical sales approach. It is therefore extremely disappointing to have complaints of this nature directed towards ourselves.

If you are approached and are at all unsure whether the individual calling you is representing Jelly Communications Ltd, please feel free to call us on 0808 161 0000 with the name of the individual and we will verify whether they work for us.

Sincere apologies for the confusion this is causing, but we want to reassure all of our valuable customers that our commitment to customer care and ethical selling remains our highest priority.

<![CDATA[Jelly Sponsor Football Club Crystal Palace]]> http://www.jellycoms.co.uk/news/JellysponsorsCrystalPalace/ Chessington, 15th November 2011: Leading independent business telecommunications company Jelly Communications, is pleased to announce a new sponsorship agreement with Crystal Palace Football Club, the high profile Championship Football League side.

The agreement, which sees Jelly become a Platinum sponsor partner, will feature the Jelly logo and web address (www.jellycoms.co.uk) on the back of the first team kit, on the media interview background, on the front of the programme and around the ground on advertising boards. Jelly currently has a hospitality deal with the Eagles which provides a hospitality box and ground banner together with programme and team sheet advertising.

‘This is a very positive and exciting step for Jelly Communications’ says Jelly’s Managing Director Gareth Limpenny. ‘As the Jelly business continues to grow, we have been looking at ways of increasing awareness and building profile and with Palace doing well on the pitch, this seems an ideal match. We are looking forward to developing joint initiatives including specific promotions based around our sponsorship.’

Crystal Palace Chief Executive Phil Alexander says; ‘We are absolutely delighted that Jelly Communications have confirmed as Platinum Sponsors for the remainder of 2011/12. Jelly are already valued partners of Crystal Palace FC , being Seasonal Executive Box holders at Selhurst Park, and we are delighted that their branding will now appear on the rear of the first team shirts and shorts for the remainder of this season. Our objective is to make sure the Jelly brand receives the maximum exposure and provides an excellent return for their business over the next six months and beyond as our relationship grows.’

On the telecommunications front, Jelly manages Crystal Palace’s mobile phone contracts and has also recently been awarded its fixed line business with a new integrated IP telephony for 65 extensions that covers Selhurst Park, the training ground and replaces the two existing systems.

<![CDATA[Mobile signal booster Cel-Fi RS2 from Nextivity is now available at Jelly]]> http://www.jellycoms.co.uk/news/mobile-signal-booster-cel-fi-rs2-from-nextivity-is-now-available-at-Jelly/ Mobile Phone Signal Booster - Cel-Fi RS2 from NextivityMobile Phone Signal Booster Cel-Fi RS2 from Nextivity is now available at Jelly. Cel-Fi is a wireless, plug ‘n’ play, cost-effective signal booster intended for 3G mobile users.

Cel-Fi uses smart antenna technology and on-board intelligence to boost the mobile phone reception by the usage of three units: a reception antenna, a signal amplifier and an internal rebroadcast antenna. Cel-Fi RS2 finds the best available signal and automatically adjusts to any changes in the radio frequency environment to maximize the signal gain to the user.

The product itself consists of two units, a window unit (WU) and a coverage unit (CU). The former should be placed in the area of the strongest received signal from the carrier network (min of 110 dBm). This unit includes a transmitter and receiver that communicates with the mobile mast. The latter unit that should be placed in the centre of the building communicates wirelessly with the WU and considerably boosts the signal levels inside the building and therefore significantly improves the quality of the calls and increases the data throughput.

Key consumer benefits include:

 • Improved voice coverage, enabling clear and reliable 3G connections within a coverage area up to 13,000 square feet. The system can turn one bar of coverage into five

 • Improved data throughput, for indoor areas with poor reception, the RS2 offers significant improvement often in excess of four times the current level, providing faster internet surfing and clearer voice calls

 • Improved battery life, as Cel-Fi eases the drain on battery power from searching for a signal

 • Ease of installation, with a true ‘plug and play’ system. Even the most non-technical subscriber can install the Cel-Fi system in a matter of minutes. No cables. No ladders. No drilling, No interference. The elegant user interface enables an intuitive installation and removes the help desk burden associated with other consumer wireless products.

Powered by Nextivity’s second generation IntelliBoost Baseband Processor II, Cel-Fi products are designed to protect the integrity of the wireless network while increasing the effective RF capacity of each base station. IntelliBoost is the first core processor designed specifically to optimise the indoor transmission and reception of 3G wireless signals. With their high capacity, ultra-low latency IntelliBoost modems, Nextivity solutions deliver reliable performance under the most challenging indoor conditions.

The Cel-Fi RS2 system is OFCOM approved and is available at Jelly.

John Jones, Sales Director of Jelly Communications is very enthusiastic about the new partnership, “London Welsh is a popular, well known club in this area and we are delighted to be partnering them. We believe London Welsh is the foremost club in this part of London and an association with them will help to promote Jelly as a local business with local connections. In addition, we get to see some great rugby too!”

Jelly is also delighted to announce that it has been nominated as a finalist in the Kingston Business Awards, in the Best SME Business category. John Jones comments “This is very positive recognition of Jelly as a successful business and it gives us great pleasure to be involved in these Awards. Over 70% of our customers are situated within ten miles of our offices so we believe we epitomise the meaning of a true local company.”
